Training Classes

Classes at Brookwood Pet Resort are fun and positive. We believe that the best way to train a dog is to use lots of motivation in the form of positive reinforcement. Your pet needs to enjoy dog training to make progress.

We offer the following classes:

Basic Obedience

Basic Obedience is a four-week course that includes the basics:

  • Sit
  • Stay
  • Come
  • Down
  • Attention getting
  • Problem solving
  • … and more

Please call or email for current fee.

Daycamp Training

We’ll work with your dog while it attends Daycamp.

Is your dog pulling you around? Is it jumping up on you? Does it ignore you when you call? Let us know what we should work on and we’ll spend some one-on -one time with your dog during the day while it’s here enjoying daycamp. We’ll provide feedback and notes so you can continue at home.

Scheduled upon request. Please call or email for current fee.

Private Lessons

Can’t make one of our regular classes? Want some advanced training sessions? Is your dog too disruptive for a group setting? Has your dog flunked out of a previous course? Got a unique issue to work on? Prefer a one-on-one session? Want to work on some advanced exercises? We can help!

Schedule a private session with us. We’re very reasonable and you can often accomplish more in a half hour private than an hour group. Private lessons are available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday during the day.

Scheduled upon request. Please call or email for current fee.

Beyond Basics

Beyond Basics is a four-week that builds upon the skills earned in the Basics Class. We’ll introduce distractions and begin off leash work. A Basics Obedience course is normally a requirement.

Please call or email for current fee.

Agility

Agility Classes are four week courses designed to develop the handler’s and dog’s skill and confidence in performing the various equipment exercises. The Introduction course is geared towards teams that have not used the apparatus before. The Beyond Introduction Class continues the introduction to new equipment and builds confidence in the dog and handler. In addition students begin sequences and start to develop strategies in running courses. The Intermediate and Competition Class is for students familiar with all the equipment and who are ready for the challenges of full courses.

The Intro class is held indoors in our matted training room. Beyond Intro and Competition classes move outdoors as soon as the weather allows but stay indoors during the colder months.
